A note on commissioning
I am incredibly fortunate to have the stability and income to regularly find myself with a little bit of extra spending money, and it has been a source of great joy to regularly commission artists for little personal topics of interest. None of these were for particular projects per se; rather, they're really just vanities that I wanted to see in a particular style. Rather than just keeping them in a little folder on my phone, I thought it would be nice to have one place on my website where I and others can admire these beautiful creations. Basically all of these commissions were done for what I would now consider a scandalously low price, so it's also my hope that folks support these incredible artists through their shops, kofis, and patreons!

Pet Chibi
This is a chibi comm of my family dog, Oscar. It is my feel-good bookmarks blog's icon image. Camilicy's animal art is one of my favorites, and I had the pleasure of meeting them at DC AwesomeCon a few years ago too. I am also lucky enough to have an original watercolor from them in my house - a little tomato! There's lots of other delightful items in their shop too that I'm always saving up for.
Custom Portrait
When I was an active Patreon supporter of Juan's, he was doing a 'classic whodunnit suspect' portrait tier, and I had to get one!! This is an amazing rendition that feels so right for me, and I use it as my studyblr/teachblr icon. Juan is still doing these Patreon portraits with different styles every quarter, so support him if you want your own!! His comic, "The Secret Knots," is also incredible; always very thought provoking and full of ambience.
Plushie Portrait
This adorable little drawing was part of a plushie portrait commission project that Jue was doing a while back. My apparently a dog plush "Squash" has been through a lot and is very scrungly, so Jue's art style was absolutely perfect to capture his roadkill-like charm. It's always doing creative different commissions on its kofi, so go say hi!
OC Interaction
Julianne Griepp has the most beautiful sketchy style that I fell in love with from her Star Trek fanart back in 2022ish. I treated myself and my best friend to a shared sketch comm of our ocs Ceydran and Misko. This piece is set as my evening/nighttime phone lockscreen, and it makes me sooo happy every time I see it, not least because of the beautiful calmness of Julianne's lines, but also as it reminds me of all the wonderful time my friend and I have spent talking about our OCs together :)
Mushroom-sona
This was such a fun commission project that Ven Sereyn did for me way back in 2020, when I had extra pocket change due to lockdown and I was getting very into commissioning as a way of filling the void of summer art markets. I still looooove this guy so much; I still wear cable knit sweaters like this so often that it really does feel like my cartoon character outfit.
OC Interaction
This is one of the first commissions I ever got, way back from 2018 when we were both in college. Nidhi Naroth is an incredibly accomplished concept artist and I feel insanely fortunate to have my own OCs in her style! The dynamism and color here is still reflected in her illustration work - unfortunately, I'm no longer on any of the platforms she uses, but I still love to check in on her website from time to time.
Poem Comic
My absolute pride and joy - this was commissioned right before lockdown and is the most gorgeous representation of one of my favorite poems of all time, "There Will Come Soft Rains" by Sara Teasdale. I've been a devoted fan of Beth Fuller's since, with my bookshelves adorned with her indie comic "Witching Hour" and her graphic novel The Victors. It's my dream to someday get this fully inked and colored; perhaps on the 10 year anniversay of lockdown if she has comms open then.
