shrines
A note on shrines
These are not really shrines in the traditional sense of the indieweb/y2k term; according to isobel's web, a shrine is "a fan-driven web page or site dedicated to a specific topic, often a celebrity or fictional character." Generally speaking, they tend to be very detailed, full-page depictions of the topic, usually including a research element where the creator shares information about the topic that provide some value to the reader. See, for example, Alia's Ethel Cain shrine, Rusty's Stephen Universe shrine, or Wolf's Jojo's Bizarre Adventure shrine.. Shrines don't have to be about media, either; they can be about unicorns, a plushie collection, and even bathroom art. This page is more of a "favorite things" page a la Loopy's incredible page (I'd love to one day have this page be as scrapbooky and magnificent as this!), but I still like calling it a shrine collection! Graphics that had credit are linked to the graphics; otherwise, they were f2u, are official art, or have been unattributed for a long time. Feel free to use any, but please don't hotlink! Enjoy!
games
Pokemon Black 2
I played this for the first time in 2025 and really enjoyed it! It helps that my best friend has complete encyclopedic memory of this game and could guide me along. I never had a DS myself as a kid but still this was somehow nostalgic. Plus, I kind of get the pokemon hype now -- seeing any of my guys out in the world as merch or art does make me happy.
Zelda: BOTW & TOTK
Looooove these games so much; the expansiveness of them and the balance of cutesy side quests and satisfying world story is so perfect to me. I love the way the world progressed between the two games, and I really enjoyed the divine beast/temple puzzles in both. I'm not great at fighting (I mostly button-mash), but I do subscribe to the school of "every game can be barbie horse adventures if you try hard enough" so with the help of aforementioned friend I managed to make a beautiful stable in akala and live out my dreams as a rancher in the totk post game.
Minecraft
Honorable mention for the game of all time, Minecraft... pocket edition lol - but seriously I played SO MUCH of this on both mobile and pc as a kid! so much love in my heart!!

Animal Crossing
I played SO MUCH Animal Crossing: New Horizons when it first came out (over 500 hours...) - in many ways, I credit this game for getting me back into web graphics!! I loved designing my island and making everything look beautiful and just the way I wanted it. so much love for this community online too!
Genshin Impact
I don't actually even play genshin, but I have so many friends who have that it does have a special place in my heart lol. I do follow bwaap's playthroughs on youtube!!
Shows
Witch Hat Atelier
absolutely adore this manga and have been completely thrilled with the anime so far. I'm qifrey defender until the end of time... the art style, the story, the combination of soft slice of life and insane sacrifice... show of all time tbh
Mob Psycho 100
this show is so much fun and I love the meme-ability of the characters. I have a reigen figurine in my classroom that a) makes the kids laugh and b) reminds me that a good mentor doesn't have to be perfect, they just have to care.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Genuinely such a fun show it is so insane. Diamond is Unbreakable is my favorite arc, though Steel Ball Run is my favorite in the manga. This is my go-to when I need a laugh because it's truly so ridiculous.
Death Note
Yet another goofy ass show that I must admit to loving... L's autistic swag bewitches me it's all I can say. Such a classic and I honestly love referencing it in class and all my students being for some reason shocked that I've seen it even tho it predates them by a decade.
Madoka Magika
It took me forever to actually watch this (much to my sister's chagrin) but this is genuinely such an amazing show. The visuals are incredible, I love the storyline, and I am a homura girlie until the end of time
Studio Ghibli
so much to say about this studio and I know it's extremely unoriginal to love them but they are NOT overrated ghibli is seriously the top tier of movies for good reason ok
star trek
I looooove the original series so much, and I do enjoy the start of next generation too (hi data....) from the sublime origin of slash to the insane plot details that are simply never returned to, you actually can't beat tos for tv imo

honorable mentions
captain america: winter soldier
sadly I am a marvel hater now but I have to stand by the half decade I spent shilling for stevebucky on every platform. I dressed up as the winter soldier for halloween in 2014. it's part of my very core personality I can't lie
over the garden wall
such a wonderful little short show - my friends and I rewatch this every year for halloween!

sherlock
not to be a hipster about it but I genuinely was a fan of the books before the show... and barely was a fan of the show lol but I still love sherlock and johnlock a lot
